The Chinese government’s first batch of emergency materials, including 40 diesel engines, 100 water pumps and 25 steamboats, arrived in Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka, on March 3-4, carried by two chartered flights. They were officially handed over to the Sri Lankan side. Two high-rating generators, as the second batch of relief, will be delivered soon.
The Chinese government offered a helping hand and announced to provide Sri Lanka with 20 million yuan humanitarian aid immediately when the country suffered the biggest flood in several decades at the end of 2014.
