Volkswagen Brazil has reported sales of 768,395 vehicles in 2012, up 10%, compared to 2011.
Volkswagen Brazil president Thomas Schmall said: "In 60 years of activity in the country, we ended 2012 with expressive record sales confirming the success of our commitment to constant innovation of our products and our processes, always focusing on the future and sustainability."
During the year, the passenger cars segment reported 11.1% rise in sales to 59,712 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose 4.4% to 11,148 units compared to 2011.
Volkswagen sold about 293,310 units of the Gol model while 19,825 units of the Amarok pick-up truck were sold, representing a 93.8% rise over sales in 2011.
During December 2012, the carmaker reported 9.8% rise in sales of cars and light commercial vehicles to 70,860 units over corresponding month in 2011.
